What's the 5P Rubric, you ask? The 5P Rubric was central to the IST520 community of wisdom/learning community. Students used the rubric to share our evaluation and assessment of learning theories, courses, etc., and students were also invited to provide feedback on the Rubric itself. The 5P Rubric, developed by Dr. Don Fischer, can be used to compare to learning approaches such as a course to the evaluation of something as complex as a learning theory. The rubric is a mapping of aspects of instruction against elements of the Schumann/Scherer Planes of Stimulus Appraisal. The goal of applying the rubric is to increase the probability of achieving intrinsic motivation with respect to what is being delivered to and required of the learner.
