I was invited by Alameda County Community Food Bank (ACCFB) to meet and discuss potential training needs their organization had. Because the COVID-19 pandemic was still very much affecting typical operations, it was an interesting time to conduct a training needs analysis. Organizations of all kinds were working to adapt, and non-profits were no exception. Orientation training was selected for this project because it is a high-priority need for ACCFB. The COVID-19 pandemic forced significant rapid change in how ACCFB conducted communications with their network partners. ACCFB was looking for recommendations to improve how they train network partners in a COVID-19 (COVID) world (What can we do right now? How can we get better at using technology to reach people?), and beyond (What specific improvements should we continue after the pandemic state of the world is over?). The Analysis Document aims to capture the needs and major considerations for this project and ultimately answer the question: What is the difference between where we are and where we need to be?

On the Level 1 survey findings dashboard, you can see the learner reaction baseline results collected as part of Analysis (ACCFB delivering their current orientation in a virtual format for the first time). ACCFB staff did a tremendous job adapting to the need for virtual learning quickly; however, they sought to make their training more engaging and participatory.
